Global TYPO3 Website Relaunch

The existing website of Drees & Sommer required, in addition to the optimization of the user experience, above all a technical redesign to meet the demands of multinational and multilingual use. This presented us with the challenge of developing a multilingual and multi-domain capable website solution that unites 23 different roots in a TYPO3 environment. The result is a platform that enables both an intelligent search function for specific pages and efficient API integration into existing TYPO3 extensions. In addition, the performance and user experience had to be optimized on all devices and for all language versions.

To benefit from the latest functions and security standards, we updated the Drees & Sommer website to TYPO3 version 12. The user experience and front-end design were completely revised to offer a modern, user-friendly interface that provides a consistent experience across all devices and language versions.



The 23 different root domains were carefully integrated into a single TYPO3 installation to simplify content management and optimize maintenance. Existing TYPO3 extensions were optimized and seamlessly integrated with APIs to enable dynamic data updates and enhanced functionalities. For precise and fast searching, we implemented an intelligent search solution powered by Apache Solr. Solr's strength lies in its ability to not only search content but also provide relevant features such as facets, rankings, filtering, and geolocation.



With a clear focus on performance and accessibility, we ensured that the website meets current web standards and that the user experience remains at the highest level.

The new Drees & Sommer website is significantly faster, more accessible, and user-friendly. The multi-site and multi-language management functions efficiently, allowing administrators to easily manage content across all domains and languages. The platform enables the global distribution of all project data, current news, events, blog articles, and the career portal, unifying international communication and simplifying workflows. The website now supports the company's international reach with a robust, scalable architecture and strengthens Drees & Sommer's position as a sustainability pioneer and digitalization driver.
